The Union Home Ministry approved recruitment of 58,000 additional CISF personnel over five years, anticipating new industrial hubs and decline in LWE. With a target of 14,000 recruits annually, the move enhances security at critical infrastructure and Maoist-affected regions.

  2. Airport Security:
    1. Entrusted post IC-814 hijacking (1999)
    1. Started in 2000, now secures all major airports
  3. VIP Security:
    1. Has a dedicated VIP Security wing
  4. Fire Protection:
    1. Largest Fire Protection Service provider among CAPFs
    1. Only CAPF with a dedicated fire wing
  5. Private Sector Security:
    1. Post-26/11 Mumbai attack, mandate expanded to private corporate security
  6. Security Consultancy:
    1. Offers consultancy to private entities
    1. High demand due to expertise and reputation
