Why in News?
The Union Government, using the Adi Vaani AI-based translation tool, has released a Hindi-translated collection of Bhil folk tales from Madhya Pradesh, titled Anuvad. The stories highlight themes of caste equality, guru pujan, and cultural theatre, preserving Bhil oral traditions.

- Developed under Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh initiative.
Developers & Collaborators:
- Led by IIT Delhi.
- In collaboration with BITS Pilani, IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT Nava Raipur.
- Supported by Tribal Research Institutes (TRIs) in Jharkhand, Odisha, MP, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya.
Objectives:
- Bridge communication gaps between tribal & non-tribal communities.
- Preserve & revitalize endangered tribal languages.
- Enable real-time translation (text + speech) Hindi/English ↔ tribal languages.
- Promote digital literacy, healthcare communication, civic inclusion.
- Provide awareness on govt. schemes, health advisories, PM’s speeches in tribal languages.

- Supports: Santali (Odisha), Bhili (MP), Mundari (Jharkhand), Gondi (Chhattisgarh).
