When Life Tested Her Early: Krishna Veni’s Remarkable Journey from SR Puram to ACTO

Krishna Veni never imagined her childhood would teach her so much about pain, patience, and perseverance.

She grew up in SR Puram village of Chittoor district, close to the Tamil Nadu border — a small farming village where people live simple lives and dream quietly.

Her father, Doraswami, is a small farmer who worked the fields every day to support his family.
Her mother, Rathnamma, a homemaker, held the family together through every hardship.

She has two brothers — Purushottham, her elder brother who always protected her, and Janaki Ram, her younger brother studied Hotel Management.

Life was modest but full of love.

Until one accident changed everything.

The Day Her Childhood Changed

When Krishna Veni was in 6th class, she suffered a serious electric shock accident that took away one of her legs and one hand.

Suddenly, everything became difficult — walking, going to school, even sitting comfortably.

At that time, she didn’t have a prosthetic leg.

Every morning, her younger brother Janaki Ram would lift her and carry her to school.
A small boy holding his sister carefully, step by step, so she wouldn’t miss her education.

That daily act of love kept her dreams alive.

A Family’s Long Fight for Justice

After the accident, her parents went from office to office — electricity department, local revenue offices, government counters — asking for compensation.

Most times, they were turned away.

Files were pushed aside.
Promises were made and forgotten.

It took ten long years before they finally received compensation.

Watching her parents struggle for something so basic changed Krishna Veni deeply.

That was when she thought:

“If justice is so hard for poor families, I want to become someone who can help them.”

That was the moment her civil services dream was born.

Studying Against Every Difficulty

Despite physical challenges and financial strain, Krishna Veni never let her studies suffer.

She completed her Tenth Class from ZPHS – SR Puram with 9.3 points.

She secured admission into IIIT (now Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies) — a big achievement for a village girl.

She studied Civil Engineering and graduated with  85%, balancing pain, travel difficulties, and tough academics.

Her family saw education as their biggest victory.

Stepping into Civil Services Preparation

After graduation, Krishna Veni entered the world of Group-I and Civil Services preparation.

She was serious from the beginning.

Slowly, through discipline and consistency, she became one of the best-performing students in her coaching batch.

Teachers noticed her dedication. She mentioned Malleshwari Madam of La Excellence IAS Academy for identifying her and putting special efforts on
Peers admired her focus.

A Friend Who Never Left Her Side

Throughout this phase, her friend Annapoorna became her strongest support.

Annapoorna helped her travel to classes, exam centres, and offices — places Krishna Veni couldn’t go alone.

More than that, she stood with her emotionally on tough days.

Krishna Veni often says she couldn’t have come this far without her.

La Excellence IAS — Where Everything Took Shape

Krishna Veni’s preparation truly matured after joining La Excellence IAS Academy.

Here, she didn’t just study — she learned how to think.

The RRP classes, Brainstorming sessions and  Notes helped her understand difficult subjects clearly.
The Group-I Test Series taught her how to write answers within time limits.
The Interview Guidance Programme prepared her mentally for the final stage.

Dr. Rambabu sir personally guided her in shaping her DAF and understanding interview expectations.

The IGP Hackathon sessions gave Krishna Veni a rare chance to interact with retired IAS and IPS officers who shared real administrative experiences and interview perspectives. Those practical insights helped her think beyond textbooks and approach both the exam and interview with maturity and confidence. The Mock Interviews looked real APPSC interview type and helped her adapt faster thanks to the feedback given by the panel members.

During her Group-1 mains, Kalyan sir’s mentorship for the Essay paper played a crucial role. His guidance helped her organise thoughts, improve expression, and write answers with clarity and depth — something that made a visible difference in her performance.

Krishna Veni later shared that the support, structure, and mentorship at La Excellence IAS gave her confidence during the most important phases of preparation.

From Struggle to Success

After years of hard work, Krishna Veni finally cleared APPSC Group-I and secured the post of Assistant Commercial Tax Officer (ACTO).

For a farmer’s daughter who once had to be carried to school, this was more than a job.

It was a victory over every hardship.

After Krishna Veni’s success, Ram Mohan Reddy sir, Academic Director of La Excellence IAS, congratulated her wholeheartedly for making the entire La Excellence family proud. He appreciated her perseverance and hard work, and wished her the very best for her upcoming UPSC Civil Services journey, encouraging her to aim for her ultimate dream of becoming an IAS officer. He also assured her that La Excellence IAS would continue to stand by her side, supporting her at every step of her preparation.

Her Simple Belief

“Life will test you, but if you don’t stop, it will also reward you.”

Final Thoughts

Krishna Veni’s journey teaches something powerful:

Disability doesn’t decide destiny.
Background doesn’t limit dreams.
Consistency changes everything.

From a small village in Chittoor to a government officer’s chair —
her success was built quietly, patiently, and bravely.
