Harshitha’s Journey: From Attili Village to District Social Welfare Officer — A Story of Grit, Purpose, and a Father’s Dream

In Attili, a modest village in West Godavari district, life moves at a slow, grounded pace. Agriculture is not just an occupation there—it is a way of life. In this simple setting, Harshita grew up as the daughter of a farmer, watching her father work tirelessly every day, not for comfort, but for dignity.

In 2026, Harshitha achieved something extraordinary. She cleared the APPSC Group 1 examination (2023 notification)and secured the respected position of District Social Welfare Officer.

But this achievement was more than a job. It was the fulfillment of a promise—a promise she made silently to her father, who once told her:

“Your success should be an example for those who question why girls need education.”

This is not just her success story. This is her journey of belief, sacrifice, failure, persistence, and purpose.

Early Life: Growing Up in Attili with Strong Values

Harshitha was born to Satyanarayana, a farmer, and Rajeshwari, a homemaker. Their life was simple. There was no luxury, no shortcuts—only hard work and honesty.

She grew up watching her father wake up early and go to the fields, regardless of weather, regardless of difficulty. She saw in him a quiet strength—a man who believed that education could take his daughter where he could never go.

Her mother was her emotional support, ensuring she had the space and encouragement to study and grow.

Harshitha did not grow up with pressure. She grew up with trust.

And that trust became her responsibility.

School and Diploma: A Student Who Never Lost Focus

Harshitha studied at Vaghdevi High School in Attili, where she completed her 10th class in 2015, securing an impressive 9.7 CGPA.

She was not someone who studied out of fear. She studied with clarity.

She later joined SMVM Polytechnic, Tanuku, and completed her diploma in 2018 with an outstanding 96.8%.

Her excellence did not go unnoticed.

She received the prestigious Pratibha Award for academic excellence. She was also awarded a Merit Scholarship, a recognition given only to deserving and meritorious students.

These were not just awards. They were affirmations that she was moving in the right direction.

Engineering Years: Building Knowledge and Confidence

Harshitha joined SRKR Engineering College, Bheemavaram, and pursued Electrical and Electronics Engineering, graduating with a strong 8.9 CGPA.

Engineering was not easy. It required consistency, patience, and focus. But she handled it with quiet determination.

During this time, she also stepped into leadership roles. She became the Project Lead for an Solar PV Cell project using a Fuzzy logic controller. This experience gave her confidence—not just in her technical ability, but in her ability to lead.

She also actively participated in KhoKho and Discus throw events at the Inter-Polytechnic Sports Meet. Sports taught her something books could not—resilience.

A Sensitive Heart: Her Commitment to Society

Harshitha was never someone who lived only for herself.

She organized a fundraising campaign on Milap.org to support a girl’s education. She did not do it for recognition. She did it because she understood what education means to someone with limited opportunities.

She participated in food donation activities, helping distribute food to those in need.

These experiences shaped her thinking. They connected her to people and their realities.

The Difficult Decision: Leaving a Secure Job Behind

After completing her education, Harshitha secured a job as a Digital Assistant in Attili Mandal.

For many families, this would have been enough. It meant financial stability. It meant security.

But Harshitha knew she wanted more—not for comfort, but for purpose.

She made a difficult decision. She left the job.

She chose uncertainty over comfort. She chose preparation over security.

She chose her dream.

UPSC Attempts: Facing Failure Without Losing Herself

Harshitha attempted the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2022, and 2023.

She could not clear the prelims.

Failure is never easy. It brings doubt, fear, and questions. Especially when you are preparing through self-study, without coaching, without external structure.

But Harshitha did not break.

She reflected. She learned. She improved.

She understood that failure was not rejection. It was a redirect.

She especially credits Poonam Malkondaiah Madam, whose mentorship gave her confidence and clarity.

The mock interviews felt real. Many questions asked during mocks appeared in her actual interview.

This preparation made a difference.

The Moment That Changed Everything: APPSC Group 1 Success in 2026

In 2026, her years of sacrifice, patience, and perseverance came together.

She cleared the APPSC Group 1 examination and secured the position of District Social Welfare Officer.

For her family, it was a moment of pride.

For her father, it was the fulfillment of a dream.

For Harshitha, it was the beginning of responsibility.

She had become the example her father spoke about.

Her Inner Strength: Discipline, Yoga, and Self-Belief

Harshita’s journey was sustained by simple habits.

She practiced Yoga and Meditation which helped her maintain mental balance.

She read books regularly, expanding her thinking.

She stayed consistent, even when results did not come immediately.

Her biggest strength was not intelligence.

It was her consistency.

The Words That Defined Her Journey

Her father once told her:

“Your success should answer those who question girls’ education.”

Today, as a District Social Welfare Officer, she has answered that question—not with words, but with her life.

Her Message to Aspirants

Harshitha believes deeply in one thing:

Believe in yourself.

She emphasizes consistency, purpose, and patience.

She wants aspirants to understand that failure is not the opposite of success. It is part of success.

Conclusion: More Than Success, It Is an Example

Harshita’s journey from Attili village to becoming a District Social Welfare Officer is not just about clearing an examination.

It is about a farmer’s belief, a daughter’s responsibility, and a dream pursued without shortcuts.

She did not have extraordinary resources.

She had extraordinary resolve.

Today, her success stands as proof that where you come from does not define where you can go.

And somewhere in Attili, a farmer walks with quiet pride—because his daughter did not just succeed.

She became an example.
