- Organized by World Athletics (global governing body for athletics). Held biennially (every 2 years).
- Features indoor track & field events (shorter tracks, typically 200 m indoor track).
- Includes events like sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws, combined events.
- India will host the event for the first time.
- Additional information: India will also host the 2030 Commonwealth Games (Ahmedabad) and has bid for the 2036 Olympic Games (proposed Ahmedabad).
