The Acting President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 4, 2026. The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in energy, critical minerals, technology, agriculture, health and people-to-people ties.

• Venezuela is a South American country located on the northern coast of the continent, with coastline along the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
• Its capital is Caracas, and it is known for having one of the world’s largest proven crude oil reserves.
• India–Venezuela relations are important in the context of energy security, as India has historically imported crude oil from Venezuela.
• Cooperation in critical minerals is significant because minerals are essential for renewable energy, electric vehicles, electronics and strategic technologies.
