- Despite ongoing border tensions, there are glimpses of renewed diplomacy such as Defence Ministers’ meet (Jan 2025, SCO), Kailash Manasarovar Yatra resumption (June 2025).
- It reflects the possibility of rebuilding meaningful ties.
Historical Civilizational Linkages
- Ancient exchanges: Chinese monks like Faxian, Xuanzang, Yijing visited India and studied at Nalanda.
- Nalanda: Meeting point of two worlds with a blend of cultural, religious, and intellectual traditions.
- Philosophy: Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam & Nalanda motto “Ano bhadraḥ kratavo yantu viśvataḥ” (Let noble thoughts come from all directions).
