Satellite Launches:
- Over 100 satellites by 2040 for national needs in data, navigation, and communication. Push for indigenisation of critical components like atomic clocks to reduce imports.
Chandrayaan Series:
- Missions Chandrayaan-4 and 5 (sample return missions, targeted for 2027–28).
- Follow-up missions up to Chandrayaan-8 before the crewed Moon landing in 2040. Chandrayaan-5 will be a joint ISRO–JAXA mission.
Human Spaceflight:
- Gaganyaan mission: First Indian human spaceflight program (low-earth orbit). By 2040: Plan for a human mission to the Moon.
New Heavy-Lift Launch Vehicle (LMLV):
- Lunar Module Launch Vehicle (LMLV) to be the heaviest rocket ever built by ISRO, as tall as a 40-storey building.
- Payload capacity: 80 tonnes to Low Earth Orbit (LEO), ~27 tonnes to Moon.
- To be ready by 2035. It will replace the shelved NGLV project.
Space Station (Bharatiya Antariksh Station – BAS):
- India plans to set up a five-module space station by 2035.
- Will be assembled using upgraded LVM3 & future rockets.
Private Space Sector Participation:
- Over 350 private space companies in India (working on hardware, applications, and innovations).
- ISRO is banking on them for indigenisation, cost reduction, and scaling.
