About PLFS:
- Published by the National Statistical Office (NSO) under MoSPI.
- Objective: Provides high-frequency labour market data for employment and unemployment.
- Frequency: Quarterly estimates (urban) and annual estimates (rural + urban).
- Indicators: Measures LFPR, WPR, and Unemployment Rate (UR).
- Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR): The percentage of persons in the population (aged 15 years and above) who are either employed or unemployed (i.e., part of the labour force).
- Worker Population Ratio (WPR): The percentage of persons in the population (aged 15 years and above) who are employed.
- Unemployment Rate (UR): The percentage of unemployed persons among the labour force (i.e., those not employed but seeking or available for work).
