The Ministry of Labour & Employment released the draft National Labour & Employment Policy – Shram Shakti Niti 2025 for public consultation, aiming to unify social security schemes, boost women’s labour participation, and create a future-ready, digitally compliant workforce.

Description:

As the PM-KUSUM scheme approaches its target year 2026, experts call for recalibration to address challenges and maximize its impact on renewable energy adoption and farmers’ energy security.

Objectives:

  • Promote renewable energy in agriculture.
  • Reduce diesel dependency and grid load.
  • Enhance farmers’ income through sale of surplus solar power.
  • Support India’s climate and renewable energy targets (500 GW by 2030).
