Context: Recent experiments have shown that even heavier particles like helium atoms can be entangled through their motion. This expands earlier findings (limited to light particles like electrons) and strengthens the idea that quantum effects operate beyond microscopic scales.
QUANTUM ENTANGLEMENT – “SPOOKY ACTION AT A DISTANCE”
- Quantum entanglement means two particles become so closely connected that they behave like a single system. If you measure one particle, the other instantly shows a related result, no matter how far apart they are in the Universe.
- Think of it like a perfectly coordinated pair: even if separated by a huge distance (E.g billion light years), knowing the state of one immediately tells you the state of the other. This happens not because anything travels between them, but because they share the same quantum state.
- This idea is very different from classical physics, where objects only affect nearby things. That is why Einstein called it “spooky action at a distance.”
