The West Bengal government has directed District Magistrates to upload details of waqf properties onto the Centre’s UMEED portal, triggering a political debate since the State earlier opposed implementing the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025. UMEED is the Central government’s unified digital platform for waqf property management.
