The Indian Navy commissioned INS Anjadip, the fourth Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC), to enhance India’s coastal anti-submarine and littoral security capabilities.

About INS Anjadip:
- A 77-metre-long, indigenously designed and built ASW-SWC.
- Built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata.
- Constructed at Kattupalli (Tamil Nadu).
- Named after Anjadip Island off the Karwar coast (Karnataka).

- Advanced ASW Suite: Integrated indigenous weapon-sensor package featuring shallow-water sonars, lightweight torpedoes, and anti-submarine rockets.
- Littoral Specialist: High-agility design optimized for precision targeting in shallow coastal waters.
- Core Mission: Real-time detection, tracking, and neutralization of enemy submarines in coastal zones.
- Multi-Role Versatility: Supports coastal surveillance, low-intensity maritime operations, and Search and Rescue (SAR).
