Sai Chaitanya Jadhav and His Inspiring Journey [AIR-68]

Tribal Hamlet to LBSNAA: His Journey!

Sai Chaitanya comes from a very humble background in Palsi B Tanda, a tribal hamlet on the borders of Telangana and Maharastra. His father is a Head Constable and Mother, a teacher. Coming from the Tribal family with a modest background, he was always driven by the idea of serving the community and the country.  Their parents being educated gave immense value to education. Their parents always wanted to see their son in a respectful job and supported him.

Early life and Education:

Sai Chaitanya completed his schooling in 2013 from Jawahar Navodaya School, Sirpur-Khagaznagar with CBSE foundations. Being a merit student he scored 9.4 CGPA, which shows his interest in education. In Intermediate he scored a staggering 98.3 percentage. Later he cleared entrance test and joined NIT, Trichy and passed B.Tech with 7.47 CGPA.

This is when sai realised what his childhood dream is. In childhood, on  morning walks with his father, he saw his father saluting superiors. Then his father used to tell him “Beta, one day I should salute you.” Those words remained in his mind and heart, made him think big and aspire for IAS. Infact he opted only for  IAS and IPS in his service preferences and did not opt for any other services. If not for Chaitanya who could have this kind of guts.

 Commitment towards public service:

Sai started his IAS journey even before writing the CSE exam. He started a public library in his village, piloted Swachh Bharat Mission Drive in the college, worked as a Regional Coordinator for Samagra Bharat, a public policy think tank advocating for tribal development in Telangana. This reflects his deep commitment to his community.

Being compassionate towards society, his areas of interests are: “Studying about Dynamics of Tribal Development in Telangana”, “Issues affecting Lower Rank Police Personnel”. Once hobbies reflect the choices they make. His hobbies are Surya Namaskar, which purifies our body and soul.

Preparation Journey: Early Struggles and Realization

Chaitanya started his UPSC preparation with full of enthusiasm and ambitions. However UPSC shows no mercy. He failed to clear his Prelims exam in  2019. That demotivated him and made him think of his capabilities. Am I fit for UPSC? This is the first thing that came to his mind. After few days, he gathered his courage and started again for his next attempt. This time he cleared prelims but failed to clear Mains in 2020.

Same thoughts again. This time third attempt. A ray of hope. Attended UPSC interview in 2021 but had to face the same fate again. He scored very low in Interview. A person committed through out his life for public service scoring such a low score in Interview shows the harsh reality of UPSC interview. You might be the best at heart but you should also convince the panel members.

Chaitanya realised something is wrong with his preparation. The test series is not helping him. The Peer group is not helping him rather pulling him down. That’s the time he approached La Excellence, joined our ‘Enhance Core Group’ and made changes to his strategies.

How ‘Enhance Core Group’ helped him ?

After his 3 attempts, he became part of our ‘Core Group’, where we provided him the company of best aspirants and study place. Our mentors are at a phone call away and a floor away to him. That’s how we constantly monitor and support them.

His journey to this point hasn’t been easy. There were times of doubt, failure, and uncertainty. He then appeared for the Civil Services Interview in 2022 but did not make it to the final list. It was discouraging, but he didn’t let these setbacks define him. Instead, they became the driving force behind his resolve to keep improving, to keep pushing forward.

The setbacks only motivated him to be better—to learn from his mistakes and to approach each challenge with a fresh perspective. It is this resilience that has brought him here today.

In 2023 i.e. his 5th attempt he gave UPSC CSE mains along with Forest Service Mains. Unfortunately he could not clear CSE mains. But he cleared IFoS mains and gave its interview . He then secured a rank in IFos, which can help him fulfill the aspirations he had for his community.

Chaitanya do not want to stop there. He wanted to give one more attempt and secure his dream job IAS or IPS. He then decided to give his 6th attempt in 2024. He was mentored by our in house faculty and provided test series and made write as many tests as possible. The ‘Enhance Core Group’ acted as a support system and periodic feedbacks and counselling given by our chairman Dr. Ram Babu sir helped him keep the spirit high and excel in the Interview stage by scoring a very high score of 205 marks. What was his weakness in the first interview became his strength this year.

After the results, the officers whom his father used to salute in Sai’s childhood has felicitated Sai and his father. A moment of tears for his parents. What else a son can do for his parents except fulfilling their aspirations and making them proud?

Philospohy behind his Success:

Sai used to quote ‘Nishkama Karma’ of Lord Krishna which emphasises on ‘selfless action’ or ‘Desireless action’. Trust the process. The saying “the world conspires for your success” perfectly suits his story, which has just begun.
